Greetings and Welcome to Victory Baptist Church
Here at Victory Baptist we wish you a very blessed day and thank you for visiting our site. As the New Year continues, our prayer is one that brings you closer to God, letting you get to know Him better. You can do that by spending more time with your bible or you find find a church family who would love to share the good word of Jesus with you. Victory Baptist is a great place to start. Praying your New Year of 2022 will bring you much love, joy and the gift of salvation given to you freely by Jesus Christ who died for you on the cross of Calvery. May God Bless You and keep you strong in His Loving Hands.
A God loving church that is bibically inspired. This church is a Southern Baptist Church and is affiliated with the South Central Baptist Association, the Baptist State Convention of MI and the Southern Baptist Convention.
We are a welcoming church family and would very much like to share Jesus with you. This is an exciting time to experience what God has to offer.
Victory Baptist, with God's help, has made some changes that is both exciting and extremely valuable in growing God's church. We decided as a church body to sell the church building to Citygate Church. Victory Baptist will continue to preach the good word at the same location however we will be using the small chapel for our services. God has blessed us in many ways and we are excited at all the possibliities this venture could bring in expanding God's kingdom.
Citygate is a beautiful God inspired church and I encourage you to check out their website: https://www.citygatechurch.cc/ This is a little message taken from their website. Pastor John's (lead pastor) passion has always been to tell others about Jesus Christ. He was convicted that starting a new church, where people from diverse backgrounds could gather, was the best option to share the Bible's message of salvation and restoration through Jesus Christ.
There was a letter I read recently that was truly a great read and I encourage all to to do just that read . This letter is titled Letter from a Birmingham Jail [King, Jr.]" 16 April 1963 by Martin Luther King Jr. The link for this is: https://www.africa.upenn.edu/Articles_Gen/Letter_Birmingham.html

Get to know Jesus in the New Year 2023
Many people believe there is a God, but too many do not know Him. Therefore, let us start with saying God loves you and wants the best for you and that is why He sent Jesus to become our Lord and savior and anyone who denies that Jesus is the Christ is a liar as written in 1John2. And while Jesus life on earth was short He lived a sinless life. This is what He wants for us for He knows sin takes the path into darkness. This says a lot about Jesus as He responds to a question from an ungodly man challenging Him, however Jesus comes out the winner. This is from the book of Matthew below in red.
This from Matthew 22:35-39. Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' his is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' For the definition of love, go to 1 Corinthians 13.
Palm Sunday leads us to Easter the following Sunday. This may be the one story in getting to know Jesus most crucial in your journey. In these 7 days, according to scripture, the crowds of people following Jesus's journey to Jerusalem went from yelling Hosanna to Crucify Him. His word tells us why such a massive change in attitude happened. To begin let us go to John 12, where it is written that many Jews went to Jesus because of Lazarus whom Jesus had raised from the dead witnessed by many. This can be read in John 11. This was a great sign and this was why many turned to and followed Him not understanding the reason Jesus was sent to them.
So, imagine Jesus sitting on a donkey riding into Jerusalem with His people yelling and praising Him all the while knowing this would be His last 7 days of His earthy mission. Many indeed did believe that Jesus was the Messiah, however, they believed He was there to start His kingdom and be their king. Therefore, on His path to Jerusalem, He was given the royal treatment waving palm leaves and throwing down their cloaks on the road as Jesus passed. To read more, go to Matthew 21. To fast forward a bit, Jesus is betrayed by His own people being envious of Him, and captured at night while others slept and is now standing before the governor Pilate where He, as a prisoner, is questioned that starts in Matthew 27. Important to note the Jewish leaders were not Jesus fans and wanted Him dead. It was a tradition during the Passover festival that one prisoner could be released and this would be between Jesus and another. I need you to keep in mind Jesus was sinless and did nothing wrong but when Pilate asked the Jews who it would be they chose the other while screaming CRUCIFY HIM. Although, this was not done without the chief priests and elders who influenced the people to choose and destroy Jesus. These Jews who sent Jesus to be crucified also stated in Matthew 27:25 And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children." My question then is if the Jewish people looked at Jesus as their Lord and savior, could they have been so easily influenced by the leaders to kill Jesus ?

This weeks bible study and the next few weeks will be from the book called 40 days with Jesus celebrating His presence. We talked of the first two days. Taste and see that I am good and let My love enfold you. This would be a good start for those who might be held back getting to know Jesus. Take a baby step, open a bible and start with a small chapter in the bible like James or Timothy. If it tastes good continue to consume more. As your relationship with Jesus continues to build, you will be able to feel the warmth/love inside and out. Day 3 will be take it a step at a time. As you can see it all starts to flow together. A daily walk with Jesus is vidal in todays environment. His word has many inspirational stories that will give you hope and encouragement.
One important thing I would like to point out is Jesus stays constant meaning He is the same in the beginning and in the end. He changes not. Man changes constantly. If you take the time to notice, culture will change time and time again and not always for the better. As cultures or societies tranform, traditions of old no longer have the meaning they used to. Jesus warns us repeatly the flesh will tempt you to embrace sin. This is why your daily walk with Jesus is so important. It is only through your relationship with Him can you see the sinful nature of man and why it is so important to keep your faith and love in Him no matter what the cost. Amen!
This from Hebrews 12: 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Baptismal Regeneration is said to be a 4 step process of faith, repentance, confession and baptism. The process may aid the individual to strenghten your relationship with Jesus Christ. In growing your relationship with Christ means sharing with others how Jesus came to us through the virgin birth of Mary, walked as a man living a sinless life, fulfilled prophecy, started his ministry, was crucified on the cross for us, and was raised from the dead. He did all this so that we could receive the gift of salvation by proclaiming that Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
Please join us if you can and seeing we start at noon, bring a lunch and enjoy the fellowship it offers.
Pastor Bill once said your life may be the only bible someone reads.
Wednesday night conference prayer call starts at 8PM. See events page for more info. This event has been cancelled for the summer.
