Happy New Year. Make one of your resolutions to get to know Jesus more and share what you learn. A little something the pastor put in the bulletin. God's love is enough. When I fall... He catches me. When I am sad... He holds me. When I cry...He wipes away my tears. When I am broken...He puts me back together. THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS LOVING ME!!! The Victory Baptist Church has been sold to Citygate Church. We are so happy and pleased that this old building will be getting a new lease on life. Our church was under used for so long and now God's house will be filled with new life and a chance to spread it's wings in the growth of Jesus Christ. To give Him thanks for His miraculous grace that He continues to pour over us through His virgin birth, His ongoing teaching, His victorious death, and His eternal resurrection. What a blessing He is. Thank you Lord Jesus! UPDATE: Evening conference call has been cancelled for the summer. Stay tuned. No update as of yet. **UPDATE: We are now worshipping in the small chapel. Some changes are coming but all for the good. Pews will be going with chairs replacing them. New paint, carpeting and many other improvements on the way. Rooms are changing however once we get used to the new look it will be nice. Some of the items we have come to enjoy over the years may be gone in the coming weeks but Citygate has some plans that is sure to make a difference. The bottom line is expanding His church to the Glory of God is what is most important. **Great read check it out. It is by MLK jr. https://www.africa.upenn.edu/Articles_Gen/Letter_Birmingham.html *I know fear grabs around us tightly but this is a time where we need to wrap Jesus tighter. Fear is addressed many times in the Word of God. I like Josuha 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. And that is the bottom line. This weeks bible study for the next few weeks is a little book called 40 days with Jesus celebrating His presence. We talked of the first two days. Taste and see that I am good and let My love enfold you. It pretty much says it all. Many may be aware of Jesus, but a daily walk with Him is to get to know Him and to know Him is to let Him lead you to a righteous heart.
*Please note Pastor Bill has written some great messages for us. Please go to Our Pastor TAB to view message. * Please keep our church and our pastor in your prayers. In addition, please pray for christians to stay strong in the faith and truth of Jesus Christ. Remember the devil is alive and well and will do anything to deceive you and doing everything in his power to trick you into thinking the darkness is better than the light. The Thrones of Jesus and Satan The focus I want to share is what I have titled is The Thrones of Jesus and Satan. This goes to who as individuals choose to worship. As Christians we should be believing in God as our creator and our source of wisdom and strength from His unchanging word to guide us individually on righteousness and truth. Jesus through His teaching describes to us what sin is and how iniquity it is never your friend. This is extremely important as God shares with us that Satan is the father of lies the promoter of evil who will try and tempt us at every turn. Satan for now is alive and energetic as he mingles among us spreading the falsities of his darkness as truth. Who could be led to believe such fallacies? Those without the light and truth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. One could say Satan who is the devil is the purveyor of evil propaganda. One could also say that Hitler shared the throne of Satan as an example. Hitler was all things evil. In 1John3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Evil therefore is diabolical, sinful, fiendish, lies, deceitful, hellish, immoral, and promotes lawlessness. Evil terminates humanity. Examine Hitler's or any other evil ruler in the last two or three generations where sinful behavior brought in a reign of terror, where human life was expendable, where sin was promoted as good and truth is considered a public health hazard. This moves me to a passage from 1John3 that is so revealing about righteousness and wickedness at the very beginning of God's word starting at verse 10- In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: whoever does not practice righteousness is not from God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was from the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil, and his brothers were righteous. (emphasis mine) Ephesians 6 starting at 10 is also worth sharing. 10 Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. If we pay attention to what is going around us today, we can witness for ourselves the darkness that is getting darker by the day all around us. There is a saying that the truth has no agenda. Jesus in His wisdom shared the truth with no agenda and needed no propaganda to sway His children to believe. The truth was all that mattered. He died holding on to His beliefs, His truths for His children and gave us His most precious gift of salvation. Some great reads taken from Hebrews below: Hebrews was writen before AD 64 and its author is unknown. The theme in the book of Hebrews is the superiority of Jesus Christ. In the book of Hebrews it gives insight between the earthly sanctuary that God commanded Moses to build during the Exodus called the Tabernacle of Moses which ultimately leads to the true sancutary which the Lord built and only the High Priest of good things to come we will ever need hence forth. The Earthly Sanctuary Hebrews 9: Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sancturary. For the tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lambstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the sanctuary; and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle the Holiest part of All, which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid with sides of gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant; and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot speak in detail. Limitations of the earthly service Hebrews 9:6 Now when these things had been just prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services. But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people's sins committed in ignorance; the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrificies are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to conscience-concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings and fleshly ordinances imposed util the time of reformation. The New Priestly Service Hebrews 8 Now this is the main part of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man. Read also Revelation 21 All things made new It starts out 1 "Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. And there was no more sea." 2 Then I, John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 "And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them. and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God." Continue reading on and you will read and be able to visulize the beautiful place God built for us.
